"Youth in Lodz” Programme
The Programme is implemented by the City of Lodz in cooperation with over 280 Lodz employers and higher education schools, supporting the development of professional careers of Lodz students and encouraging the young people to start their careers in our city, and, at the same time, helping local entrepreneurs and investors in acquiring highly qualified personnel. The “Youth in Lodz” Programme is:
FIRSTLY – DISCOUNT CARD in App
Culture, entertainment, recreation, sport or education — all of this you can have at a lower price thanks to a Youth in Lodz Discount Card. How to get it? You only need to be a student of any Lodz universities, register at our website: www.mlodziwlodzi.pl/kartarabatowa, download the app Karta rabatowa Młodzi w Łodzi from Google Play or App Store and you can use discounts at the level from 10% to 50% in theatres, cinemas, language schools, dance schools, driving schools, fitness clubs, entertainment centres or dining options.
SECONDLY — APPRENTICESHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS
It is worth gaining practical experience as early as from the beginning of your studies, as it pays off later, by easier entering in the labour market after graduation. The “Youth in Lodz” Programme makes it easier by placing hundreds of apprenticeship offers at the Apprenticeships and Internships Portal — www.praktyki.lodz.pl and offering paid holiday internsihips, organised by the best companies in Lodz as part of a programme called “Work as an apprentice in Lodz”. Internships completed as part of the programme is often a ticket to employment, because 60% of interns receives an offer of further cooperation from his or her employer.
THIRDLY — TRAININGS
Thanks to free trainings, webinars “Your Career in Your own Hands” you can expand your knowledge and develop skills such as: social media, communication, self-presentation, project management, team work, and many others which are valued on the labour market.
Each month, there are 4–7 trainings organised, and in order to take part in them, you only need to fill in an application form at the website: www.mlodziwlodzi.pl.
FOURTH – SCHOLARSHIPS
An additional cash injection will be of use to every student. The “Youth in Lodz” Programme includes Lodz City Scholarships for first-year students who are winners of finalists of national school subject contests, as well as scholarships funded by employers — for senior-year students at chosen fields of study. As part of the scholarship program, one can also be reimbursed for accommodation in a students’ hostel or for participation in a language or programming course.
FIFTH — OWN COMPANY
If you are a person who has an idea for your life and you know that in the future you will be your own boss, then the perfect solution for you will be to take part in a competition on the best start-up “I have an idea for start-up”. The competition helps in making your dreams come true, shows how to start, how to develop one’s business activity, gives financial support and ensures tools needed to run a company.

Additionally, thanks to an initiative “Meet Lodz Employers”, as part of which Open Days are organised in companies, you will have a chance to see how working in Lodz looks like.
