We encourage to move around Lodz on foot or by bike as often as possible. Enthusiasts of two-wheeled vehicles have currently around 150 km of cycling paths at their disposal, and every year this number grows. Lodz Bike Sharing (Łódzki Rower Publiczny) worked really well. At present, it has been suspended - the procedure for selecting a new operator for 2021-2024 is ongoing. Łódź Bike Sharing is an alternative means of transport, enabling moving fast around the city. It is an excellent means of transportation in Lodz. ŁRP Cyclers can use 150 stations and 1500 bikes. Volt Scooters - individual scooter rental system has been operating in Łódź since April 2019. To rent a vehicle you need a free app that can be downloaded from the AppStore and Google Play stores. All necessary information (how to use) can be found at voltscooters.pl

Remember that a scooter, according to Polish law, is not a vehicle and cannot be used on the street. A person using a scooter is a pedestrian according to applicable regulations, so he should move on the pavement.

Scooters should be parked in the area from the Sukcesja shopping center in the south to Manufaktura in the north. From the east it reach the Łódź Fabryczna station. About 150 scooters are available.

If you decide to use urban public transport, there are over 20 tramway lines and nearly 100 bus lines. Moreover, between 10:30 pm and 5:00 am, there are also 13 night bus lines. Importantly, the public transport timetable in Lodz is different for weekdays and weekends.

Tickets used in Lodz are time-limit tickets. You can buy them:

· Stationary ticket vending machines

· Using a mobile app

For single journeys, a discounted ticket for 20 minutes costs PLN 1.50, and for 40 minutes PLN 1.90. Using public transport regularly, it is worth buying a monthly ticket – “Migawka”. The price of a reduced-price ticket for a student for 30 days for all lines is PLN 48.00, and for 90 days - PLN 120.00. If you decide to move around Lodz by car, you have to know that — as it is in the case of all metropolises — it is not easy, especially during the rush hour. When entering the city centre, you have to remember about the paid parking zone which applies from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm. More information you can find here: http://lodz.spp24.pl/

At the beginning of 2021, construction of multi-storey car parks in the very center of the city will begin - at Wshodnia, Tuwima and Kościuszko Street. The investment will include 900 covered parking spaces. In the future it is planned to create more parking lots, which will greatly minimize the difficulties associated with finding a parking space.

In 2014, trains of Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna (Lodz Municipal Railway, ŁKA) appeared on tracks of the Lodzkie Region. ŁKA trains connect regional cities with Lodz, they are also an excellent transport alternative for Lodz residents. Connections within a so-called ring railway line: Łódź Kaliska – Łódź Widzew and Łódź Widzew – Zgierz have been launched.
