Lodz University of Technology (TUL) is a dynamically evolving University with a well-developed structure. Education and research are provided by nine faculties as well as various complimentary units functioning within the university such as the International Faculty of Engineering. The educational offer includes 63 fields of study with a practical and general academic profile, with specializations adapted to the needs of the labor market and the latest achievements in a given field of science. Nowadays, TUL is one of the biggest and best state universities in Poland, educating over 16 000 students.
Our university is unique in terms of years of experience in education in foreign languages: no other university in Poland has such a diverse offer. At the Center for International Education (IFE), we conduct studies in English and French. Students have the opportunity to obtain double diplomas, and a mandatory semester at a foreign university gives them an advantage in searching for their dream job. We are also the only university in Poland that belongs to the group of 14 universities in Europe associated under the ECIU network (European Consortium of Innovative Universities). Thus, we can offer students an individually tailored program to improve their competences at foreign universities and gain micro-credentials, allowing them to possess a unique educational profile.
We run a special program for talented students E2TOP, thanks to which students can start their scientific work under the supervision of a selected mentor even in the first year of studies. Participants are offered a rich support program that include scholarship, reimbursement of foreign trips and participation in conferences, funds for the purchase of equipment to implement the project.
Our educational approach makes use of the modern methods and techniques of acquiring knowledge, such as problem-based learning. For our students and employees, we have created a design thinking studio - DT4U, a place of creative thinking, where people from different faculties and fields of study cooperate on engineering projects combining many, seemingly distant fields. In addition to knowledge, our students also gain practical skills that are highly valued by employers. We make sure that they encounter real problems of enterprises and business already during their studies.
There are over 60 Student Science Research Clubs at Lodz University of Technology. Each of them is a great place for people with passion, everyone who wants to expand their knowledge in a specific field, initiate projects, or take part in competitions. Students of Lodz University of Technology have achieved success on a global scale. The GUST Team built the world's best backyard wind turbine, SKaNeR members are behind the successes of the Mars rover, and the Lodz Solar Team are the creators of two solar-powered vehicles. We focus on improving soft skills, such as communication, creativity, initiative, flexibility, and teamwork.
